Lions Intl. Sponsors' Logos Blow Off In Winds - Wrightsville Beach
Lions Club made a special point of publicly apologizing to its sponsors today. After three days of forty knot winds (prior to the last leg) the lettering that identifies the jib sponsors blew off the sail.
At the request of Todd Hart we are listing those brave sponsors here, and letting them know that their logos are adrift somewhere in the Atlantic. There have been no reports of any logos washing up on shore.

"Peanut" Johnson Feeling Better - Wrightsville Beach
Peanut Johnson of Outer Banks appeared on the beach this morning with his hand wrapped, but the smile back on his face. He said he was feeling better and hoped to start one of the two legs at Cape Hatteras. "I've got to sail into home. I've got to do it, right?"
In the mean time Charles Thuman is filling in.

Extreme Drops Out – Rudder Problems - Wrightsville Beach
Chris Webster has sailed his race twice before and never finished. He is the only competitor sailing a Mystere.
Chris said he was extremely disappointed. Chris had put into Carolina beach to repair a rudder. According to his crew, David White, they had already broken four blades, one rudder arm, and eight housings. "The rudder won’t kick up when you need it to, and then you can’t get it down."
With Hatteras coming up, it was decided that it was unwise to continue.
